Middle School Animation - Scratch Jr

This term in the Middle School we have been learning about narrative writing. We have learnt to bring our narratives to life by animating them. When we animate, we have to include characters and make them speak and move. In our animations, we make sure that our narrative has a problem and a solution. We include backgrounds which give our viewers information about the setting. Our animations have an ending.

Here are what some of our Middle School learners have said;

"I love bringing my stories to life because it is fun to be creative and I also like viewing others work" - Ruby

"I like animating because people can see my work and it is interesting"
 - Arthur

"I like using Scratch Jr because you can animate using different tools"
 - Theo

"When I use Scratch Jr I can make characters move around and make my own backgrounds and characters"
 - T.J.

"I like using Scratch Jr to animate because my characters can talk and move, I can change the size of them too and make my own characters and backgrounds"
 - Mia

"I like writing stories because once I write them, I can then bring them to life. I can then make all the things that might not be possible in real life, be real in my story"
- Jacana
